This video taught me all the basic tools that can be used while using InDesign. InDesign is an Adobe platform therefore I found it really interesting how many of the tools from Illustrator and Photoshop are also on InDesign. I think that this will make it easy to create the page layouts, shapes, etc because I am already comfortable with the tools. Although there is still some tools that are new on this platform such as the smoother tool and a few others I haven't used before. I can foresee myself using all of the tool that I used in the past on this platform as well to create the best possible outcome. While this video was short I feel it was very consise and to the point. 


I learned a lot from this video as it went into things that are only on InDesign and not Photoshop or Illustrator. First I learned about page layout and how to properly portortion a page as well as adding guidelines. These will become really helpful to know for inserting images and fitting them into the space wanted. A really helpful tip that I learned was the ability to fit the image porportionally meaning that if I wanted to split the page like he did in the tutorial it would be really simple. Within this video he also went over the basic tools that were also discussed in the last video as well which I will definitely use. 

This video holds a lot of useful information about InDesign it definitely could be an insightful watch for beginners to even those who are more advanced. Throughout this video they went through the alphabet each letter having its own either tool or tips and tricks. Many of these will be super helpful while creating business cards etc. Something that I will definitely take advantage of is the spell check as well as the tool finder. It is easy to get overwhelmed and not remeber what every aspect of the tools does so to have tool finder I feel it will be really helpful. Another thing that I found interesting was the ability to create QR codes through InDesign where you can attach either text or a website. This will be helpful while creating business cards to add more info that might not fit on the small card. This video taught me a lot about spacing, text placement etc. I found this video super insightful and easy to understand.

Final Portfolio This is my final portfolio for FMX 210, a visual combination of all the work I accomplished this semester. I chose the portfolio template on Adobe Stock because I liked the simple layout and how I could incorporate the colors and fonts I decided to use. I completed this portfolio using Adobe InDesign, using the layouts set out by the template, only altering a few to match my plan. I added text boxes to the artist statements and placed all the projects into image boxes. I chose the colors I did because they tied all my art together and made the project appear to be professionally done. Adding headers in one specific font also tied all the pages together, making it seem like a magazine. Overall, this class has taught me so much helpful information; as a marketing major, I will utilize many Adobe platforms in my future career.

 Ps HW 2 Elaine Brown, 2009      This image stands out to me because of all the emotion behind her eyes and facial expressions. At first glance, we can point out that she is unhappy and looks miserable. The depths of her gaze show the pain she is in internally, and that is why I feel it is such a powerful image. The documentary taught me how close-up images of only a person's face can be so much more potent than a further away shot. Platon has mastered this technique, as seen in the documentary. His technique is powerful and shows the viewer the emotion of those photographed.     This image brought me close to my emotions because you could tell that there was something wrong, and Elaine did not seem happy. She seemed somewhat disappointed. She was chairman of the Black Panther Party, an organization that fought for equality and against police brutality. Postcard

This was my first project in InDesign, which was a great experience; we were tasked to create a postcard for an area in the U.S. experiencing complete totality for the solar eclipse. My home state was in the line of totality, so I chose to do a postcard for April 8, 2024, in Fort Kent, Maine. For this project, I was inspired by the sci-fi vibe of a solar eclipse. Therefore, I chose this AI-generated photo. I knew I wanted to do blue and orange because they are complementary colors, so I did the text in blue. I also added my tag brush logo onto the back of the postcard where the postage stamp belongs. Overall, this project came out great, and I am glad I went outside my comfort zone and chose more of a sci-fi theme. I used various tools in InDesign, but I found myself using the rectangle frame tool the most. It made creating text bubbles and a place to put the image easily.
