Tag Brush Assignment

Image
Tag Brush Assignment This is the original image I created while doing the logo assignment. While using Photoshop I was able to rework my logo into something a little grungier and out there. When I was coloring the logo, I did not choose to do bright colors because I wanted to portray a different message but for this assignment, I felt it would be fitting to do bright colors to catch attention. We started by adding the background splatter and learned how to rework it and use a mask to have it appear in the back. We then used scratches and shadows to add to the grungy effect. I chose the brighter colors because they reminded me more of graffiti.

Ps HW 1

Ps HW 1 Basic Overview This video gives a basic understanding to where everything is located within Photoshop. It seems to be laid out much like Illustrator with some of the tools located in the same places. Such as the shape tools and  the panels on the right side of the screen. I learned from this video how you can easily move the panels and tools you are using at the time for easy access. He started to go through what each of the tools did but he did not go into depth. Overall this video was super helpful for a basic understanding of Photoshop and what it can be used for.  Layers Now I chose to go more in depth with examining Photoshop and all it has to offer. I found that layers are super important when it comes to editing photos. In this video I learned there's two types of layers pixels and adjustment layers as well as many types of layering under that catergory. He explained how you can layer the images and then choose a base layer and use tools to bring light th...

Poster Project

Image
Poster Project The image that I based the self portrait off of.  Final self portrait used for the poster.  Being from Maine, it was essential for me to incorporate it into my poster. My home state is a tourist attraction for many reasons, from the beautiful Acadia National Park to all the coastal towns such as Bar Harbor and Boothbay. There are so many natural treasures within the state of Maine; therefore, it is vital to leave no trace and leave it better than you found it. For my art, I first began by choosing a photo and then tracing it using the pen tool to create different shapes that came together and created my self-portrait. Using the pen tool, I then chose to do more of a natural-looking background. My idea was to place my self-portrait within the trees and the mountains to make it appear like I was hiking. While I chose to attend a college in Florida, which happens to be one of the flattest states, I love hiking and being outdoors while traveling and when I am in Mai...

Logo Project

Logo Project: From Start to Finish Here is what I started with, 10 sketches of logos that could be used to represent myself. Then we were tasked to narrow it down to the three that stood out most to us.  I chose to combine two of my logos from the previous assignment and created the AP in the upper left corner where I added daisy's to the inside of the letters. This one did not really stand out to me though. Second I chose to bold the A and combine that with the P to create the second logo down. Although this logo was not super spectacular and I felt it was too simple. Lastly I chose to take the logo I created in the last assignment and rework it so that it looked like a peace sign with my initials in it. This is the logo I ended up using to create my final logo on Illustrator.  On Illustrator I was able to create this logo in B&W. My work reflects not only myself but also my childhood. I created a logo with my initials within a peace sign. Peace signs to me represen...
