Ai HW 1

Tutorial #1:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3NBKRywEbNs

I found this video very insightful as I began learning the ins and outs of Adobe Illustrator. Throughout this video, I discovered the basics of where everything is located on the platform and how to use the simpler tools. After watching this video, I will struggle the most with the pen tool as so many tips and tricks go along with it, but it will eventually click. After learning that there are shapes, I am confident in creating a logo later in this course. I found it interesting that he showed us how to align not only one shape but the two shapes together and ensure they are perfectly centered.

Tutorial #2:

This tutorial was exciting as I saw firsthand how the pen tool can work to change a logo completely. This logo started as just an essential arial font C, and the artist was able to create this colorful piece of art from it. I like how they began with the outline of a basic shape and then built off it. The coloring tool should be easy to use, but getting the gradient coloring down will take some practice. I could utilize many of these skills while creating logos and specific projects for potential marketing clients. I found it most interesting how, just through one program, they could completely reinvent a new logo out of just the letter C.

Tutorial #3:

This last tutorial taught me where to find all the tools and gave me helpful information for navigating Adobe Illustrator. Almost everything needed can be discovered in the panels listed within this video. The links panel was interesting, mainly for when we begin working on editing projects and importing images. Another helpful but more challenging panel is the pathfinder panel, which allows you to separate shapes and move around objects. Lastly, one of the more fun panels to use on Illustrator is the character styles panel, where you find different fonts to add to a project. I found it interesting how, in this video, there are so many corresponding parts and panels within Illustrator that are all used simultaneously to create a final product.
